What Does Past-Life Regression Teach Us About The Afterlife?

I’m thrilled to present this new Afterlife TV episode featuring Dr. Brian Weiss. Brian is the author of Many Lives, Many Masters, Through Time Into Healing, Only Love Is Real, Messages From The Masters, Same Soul, Many Bodies, and more. In this interview, Brian Weiss talks about whether we reincarnate as animals (or animals as humans), how many lifetimes most people have experienced, if past-life regression can cause issues in addition to healing them, what to do when we experience a traumatic past-life memory, how often we regress to a lifetime that is relevant to our current issues, and Dr. Weiss’ viewpoints on ‘old souls’ and ‘soul mates.’ I had a lot of fun interviewing Brian, and I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.” ~ Bob Olson, Afterlife TV

Dr. Brian Weiss, author of Many Lives, Many Masters, talks about past-life regression.

As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks. His skepticism was eroded, however, when she began to channel messages from “the space between lives,” which contained remarkable revelations about Dr. Weiss’s family and his deceased son. Using past-life therapy, he was able to cure the patient and embark on a new, more meaningful phase of his own career.

A graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School, Brian L. Weiss M.D. is Chairman Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami. Dr. Weiss conducts national and international seminars and experiential workshops, as well as training programs for professionals.

This was a FANTASTIC interview, Bob! I have been a follower of Brian’s since his first book, and to watch him and listen to him was a real treat. Like he said, Bob…”You do good work.”
Thank you so much for this!
    Linda

  2. Bob,
I’m really excited and glad you are doing this type of work and interviews, about life after death and out of body experience. It is fascinating and sometimes beyond comprehension. However I can totally relate to all of this. When I was 16 years old I drowned in the ocean. That was my near to death experience, the only reason I came back is because I saw my mother’s suffering. I was very comfortable and content in a timeless, painless, no sorrow, no rush, no tomorrow, loving wonderful and peaceful world! I realized that life is like a dream, when you are born you wake up into mortality in this physical body, when your physical body dies, you’re going back to immortality, therefore I’m not afraid to die anymore, it is like going home, there was an opening to another dimension for sure when this happened, which allows me to help others in this life. Keep up your good word, you’re allowing those people like me to feel normal. Hugs, Lupita

    Hi Bob,

Is there a chance that Dr. Raymond Moody will be interviewed on your program? He’s just published a new book on his life experiences with the paranormal. I’ve always found him to be a fascinating speaker and very intellectually curious.

    Thanks.

Wonderful interview Bob! I wish it could have gone on for a few more hours, since Dr. Weiss is full of great knowledge on the subject. I have been a fan for years and his work has truly broadened my understanding and appreciation of the spiritual, and the afterlife. Please try to have him on again around the time the new book, that he’s co-written with his daughter is published. All the best to you Bob, and keep them coming.

    • Bob Olson says:

      Hi Labelle,

Yes, I’ll try to have Brian back on when his next book comes out. Glad you liked the interview.

      Warmly,
      Bob

  5. Maria says:

    Hi Bob,

Great interview with Dr. Weiss! I was intrigued by his comments about pre-birth planning, destiny and free will. Perhaps you can address these questions in one of your upcoming interviews: Everything I have read indicates that when a person dies, it is their time to go; there are no accidents. But what if the person who died was murdered? If the killer had free will to choose to kill or not to kill that person, how could it be that it was that person’s time to go? Logically, it would seem that a murder would have to be part of the pre-birth plan if it truly was that person’s time to go in that manner. Do you have any thoughts on that or have you read anything that might enlighten me? Thanks.

    Maria

    • Bob Olson says:

      Hi Maria,

Thank you. My understanding of it is that our life ends when it’s time to go, but that it’s not set for any particular date or hour. Instead, our soul knows it’s time to go and with the assistance of our spirit guide(s), our soul waits for the proper “opportunity” for our life to end. That might be when a drunk driver is driving down the road, when we cross paths with a desperate person with a gun, when we push our damaged heart during stress, or when we’re choosing to buy plane tickets and there’s a plane that is going to crash. It’s complicated because our death must also align with the experiences that the souls of anyone else involved wants to have. In your example, however, each human being does have free will, so if the person who might have murdered us chooses not to kill us, our soul and guides will just find another opportunity for our physical death in the near future. For a more thorough explanation of this concept, you should watch my interview with Robert Schwartz, the author of Your Soul’s Plan: http://www.afterlifetv.com/2012/01/19/do-our-souls-plan-lifes-challenges-struggles-sufferings-before-birth/

      Warmly,
      Bob

  6. I do not know if you know much about Dianetics and Scientology. When he wrote the book Dianetics, L Ron Hubbard was sure that there was no such thing as reincarnation. Then he ran across people remembering things from before they were born and all that changed and then came Scientology. Yes it was great hearing from Dr Weiss and I had an experience with souls splitting before I even imagined such a thing. It was very strange for me to experience that this wooman and I used to be the same soul.

    • Bob Olson says:

      Hi Chuck,

That’s interesting about Ron Hubbard. I didn’t know that. I also never heard of anyone having a split soul. That’s a stretch for me to wrap my mind around, but I do believe in soul groups. Thanks for sharing.

      Warmly,
      Bob

    Hi Bob,
Fantastic site. Many great interviews. Dr. Weiss was a special treat though. As a kid I was very afraid of death, until one day, I was about 12 yrs old and my dad gave me Dr. Weiss book. Reading his book changed me for life, my fear of death totally disappeared. Which was a relief….

Anita’s interview was also incredible. I loved her analogies.

    Thought provoking content!

    • Bob Olson says:

      Thanks Ofelia,

What a nice gift that was from your father. That seems like wise parenting. Glad you’re enjoying the site.

      Warmly,
      Bob
