An ascended master is a spiritually advanced being who has completed the process of ascension and is filled with such wisdom and awareness that they no longer need to incarnate. As a result of their spiritual enlightenment, they now place themselves in the service of spirits who are having human experiences.
Some people refer to ascended masters as elders. I had an experience that allowed me to experience first-hand what it is like to be in an elder’s presence. It was during one of my Life Between Lives regressions, where I was regressed into the spirit world while between lives. At first I was regressed into a past life, but when I died in that past life, the regressionist guided me beyond that lifetime as I returned to the afterlife. Once on the other side, I experienced the life review process following that most recent lifetime.
This experience was absolutely breathtaking. First of all, I was in the spirit world, which is everything near-death experiencers say it is. I felt immense love, warmth, safety and peace like I have never experienced in my lifetime. I had no desire to go back to my prior life’s body. That would have been like coming inside to a warm house filled with friends during a bitter-cold winter storm and then choosing to leave that cozy, loving environment to go back into the blizzard. So there I was tranquilly absorbing this spirit world scene when suddenly, sitting before me, was a group of seven advanced beings who emanated love and wisdom beyond measure and who promised to answer all my worldly questions. I was told (telepathically) that they were the Council of Elders.
So these seven beings of light, who were high-level spiritual masters (ascended masters), sat around an oval table with me. Although they were only masses of light in appearance, I still had a slight knowing of their personalities, their body-like movements, and the most overwhelming sense that they loved me deeply. Their love was so intense that I burst into tears the moment I first felt it during the regression. Once in front of the Council of Elders, I immediately felt that they did not judge me for the errors of my past life. In fact, I felt their parent-like compassion for me because I was harshly judging myself.
While in their presence, I underwent my life review, experiencing my previous life all over again but with crystal clarity of the triumphs and failures I had made during that lifetime. I learned lessons that have still not escaped me many years later and I will never forget meeting these seven ascended masters.
