ROBERT SCHWARTZ: “This is one video conversation that you don’t want to miss. In this interview, I talk with Robert Schwartz, author of Your Soul’s Plan, about how our souls plan our challenges in life on purpose. If you’ve ever wondered why bad things happen to good people, Robert Schwartz shares with us his conclusions about that topic based on years of research. This video conversation offers hope and understanding about the challenges we meet in life, and it might even leave you with a sense of inner peace and acceptance in the face of your challenges — or at least help you believe there is meaning to your suffering and that you’re not merely a victim of unlucky circumstances. I’m excited to present this conversation to you, so I hope you won’t miss it.” ~ Bob Olson, Afterlife TV
Robert Schwartz, author of Your Soul’s Plan, talks about pre-birth planning.
Your Soul’s Plan: Discovering the Real Meaning of the Life You Planned Before You Were Born by Robert Schwartz explores the premise that we are all eternal souls who plan our lives, including our greatest challenges, before we’re born for purposes of spiritual growth. The book contains ten true stories of people who planned physical illness, having disabled children, deafness, blindness, drug addiction, alcoholism, losing a loved one, and severe accidents. The information about their pre-birth plans was obtained by four gifted mediums and channels. The book presents the actual conversations people had with their future parents, children, spouses, friends, and other loved ones when they planned their lives together. For readers, suffering that once seemed purposeless becomes imbued with deep meaning. Wisdom may be acquired in a more conscious manner; feelings of anger, guilt, blame, and victimization are healed and replaced by acceptance, forgiveness, gratitude, and peace.
You can purchase a copy of Your Soul’s Plan at Robert Schwartz’s website www.YourSoulsPlan.com or www.Amazon.com.
You can see Robert Schwartz speak live at The International Conference On After Death Communication featuring Robert along with Larry Dossey, Bill Guggenheim, John Holland and more in Phoenix, AZ in April 2012 http://
Robert Schwartz Biography: In a personal session with a medium in 2003, author Robert Schwartz was astonished to speak with nonphysical beings who knew everything about him – not just what he had done in life, but also what he had thought and felt. They told him that he had planned many of his most difficult experiences before he was born. Realizing that a knowledge of pre-birth planning would bring great healing to people and allow them to understand the deeper purpose of their life challenges, he decided to devote his life to the study of pre-birth planning. The extraordinary insights that have emerged from his work speak to our heartfelt, universal yearning to know . . . why.

Again, Bob, Thank you for yet another intriguing interview. It left me with many things to think about. I am having a hard time wrapping my brain around the image/understanding of the “one” soul with each of us being a part of “it.” Does that mean that “I” am gathering experiences to better feed the “one” soul? I can’t manipulate that information to make “perfect” sense to me. I can understand that “I” as one individual want/need to come back to gain understanding and insights to get to that place of Love, etc.
Anyway, I need to think about this more. I will get Robert’s books to help me with that.
Are there any others who have delved into this ideology who have come up with different insights that do or do not agree with Robert?
Thanks again, Bob! I’ll be watching this one again.
Hi Linda,
That’s the point, for sure, to get you thinking. I do believe his book will help answer some of your questions. I have an interview coming up with Dr. Brian Weiss where we covered some of the same content, so you might get some added insight there. I don’t know of any authors or experts off the top of my head who disagree with Robert’s views, myself included. But what really matters for you is what you believe. So, as I always say, investigate for yourself and draw your own conclusions, which is exactly what you’re doing. Thanks again for your comments.
Warmly,
Bob
Once again another program that teaches and inspires! KEEP THEM COMING!
Thanks Bee,
I appreciate your comments.
Warmly,
Bob
Can I say WOW? I am learning so much from your conversations. It seems like you did this one with me specifically in mind. I sent you an email 2 days before you posted this one and this pretty much answers it to a T. I can’t, at this time, understand why my life has come to the point that it has, where so much is going “wrong” or there are so many challenges to face all at once. And I will freely admit that I’ve spent the biggest part of my life portrayed as the victim. I loved the answer that if we agreed to the life plan, how can we truly be the victim!?! Interesting to think of it in that concept. I have so much to learn yet as I’ve just begun delving into the spiritual side of me and my life and I thank you for all the great interviews that have led me to many great people and books to go read in my search for answers. I started out a skeptic back when my son died last year. My daughter was having experiences and I was trying to logically explain it all away but the more I learn, the more I have changed my beliefs and the more I’ve grown. I have a long way to go and will continue watching the interviews you have on here, going to get books when I can and researching this all for myself. Thank you so much for all the information! It is opening my eyes in ways I never believed possible.
Best Regards
Amber Henry
Hi Amber,
You make me say “Wow!” I’m moved by your story and awareness. To recognize your own feelings of being a victim and move beyond that is a true awakening. High five to you. That kind of personal insight is an inspiration. Sorry I hadn’t got to your email yet (we get so much), but I’m glad you shared your comment here for others to share.
Warmly,
Bob
Bob:
This was a good interview, but these discussions always lead me to more questions (as I suppose it should). My present question concerns what you might call human evolution. Considering all the lessons our spirit selves have learned, have we “evolved” since the arrival of the first human? I don’t mean “evolved” in the standard Darwinian sense (i.e., having risen up out of the sea, etc); but all the lessons that our various spirit selves have presumably learned or experienced, are those lessons better reflected in us now as opposed to when the first human appeared, i.e., have we improved, are we better as a result of these learned experiences? Or is the purpose of all of this simply so that our spirit selves can have experiences and make choices, but when we return to this world (assuming we do) do we bring our improved knowledge/experience? I guess that some of us bring an improved experience, but if you look at the world at large we are still plagued by age-old ills: greed, jealousy, fear, et cetera.
In reflecting on the God (or, more generally, the concept of an all-knowing being) I once said that the reason humans were created is because, for an omnipotent being, the opportunities for self-reflection are limited. Thus, “God” created “us” to learn about itself. In listening to this interview, it seems that I might not have been far wrong (assuming I understood correctly what your guest said).
Hi Carl,
It seems to me that you have answered your own questions. I think you got it. Having a human life is really just about having experiences, positive or negative. As Robert Schwartz said in the interview (paraphrasing), so our souls can learn more about ourselves–sometimes by experiencing the opposite. My personal take on this is that the goal is not to continuously have “improved experiences,” as you wrote, but rather new experiences that offer our souls new insights. I believe we come here to experience both sides of every possibility, so I don’t see what you call the “age old ills” as ever disappearing from human experience. Years ago I wrote an article that resonates with this. You might find it relevant: http://www.ofspirit.com/bobolson34.htm
In the end, Carl, yes, Afterlife TV is just as much about inspiring more questions than it answers. To me, it’s important that we each investigate the afterlife on our own in order to draw our own conclusions. And it’s always been my experience that each time I have my own spiritual experience (past-life regression, mediumistic reading, life-between-lives regression), I usually have just as many questions than I learned. I like that these videos are doing this for you. Thanks for your comments.
Warmly,
Bob
This interview is bazaar to me. I have spoken to many friends about this exact theory and can’t believe that Robert has written a book echoing my exact beliefs. It’s as if we share the exact same thoughts, only thing is that these thoughts came to me without any research or discussions with anyone.
Bob, keep up the good work!
Warm regards
andy
Thank you Andy!
How cool that you had these insights come to you in that way. That’s wonderful confirmation to you to trust your own inner wisdom.
Much appreciated,
Bob
Hi Bob,
I fianlly got to watch and listen to your interview with Robert Schwartz, and it was amazing! Robert’s book, Your Soul’s Plan helped me immensely ten years after the death of my son Scott…my only child. I had little knowledge of afterlife awareness other than the many signs and dreams I had from Scott. They were my lifeline to MORE. Robert’s book opened me up to SO MUCH MORE with the concept of pre-birth planning and our soul’s journeys. I’ve met Robert and know how much he cares about this topic.
This interview was a great teaching moment for me – even with all that I have learned from Rob. Thank you! i love your website and now…Afterlife TV!
Trust LOVE!
Sara
Hi Sara,
That really means a lot. Thanks for sharing your story. Robert’s book really is a life changer. I’ve had so many people express your same enthusiasm about it. And I’m glad my interview with Robert took what you’ve learned from him to a new level.
Warmly,
Bob
Dear Bob,
Thank you so much for the wonderful work that you are doing. I am a big fan of Dr. Brian Weiss and I have read all of his Books. After I read his first book, I suggested my friend to read his book. She was grieving the loss of her dear father. It helped her immensely and that made me fell very happy. I started reading all of his books and shared them with her. So this interview of Dr. Brian Weiss made me feel even more happy as I always longed to see hear him and see him. Also, this gave me a chance to see the rest of the videos in your site and each video is so unique and so full of loving messages.
Thank you for all the videos and I look forward to see many more.
Keep doing what you love to do. It helps a lot of souls that you are not aware of.
Warm regards,
Priya
Hi Priya,
I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. I’m certainly having a lot of fun with them myself. Brian does make you feel happy just watching and listening to him–I agree. Thank you for your comments. Wow Bob, this interview was amazing. I think finding afterlife TV was built into my soul plan as one of those things to assist my spiritual development and in helping to heal thanks for doing what you do.
I’ve come across so many things saying Arizona in the last few days, I am thinking it’s a sign I should go to the April conference that Robert Schwartz and Marc Ireland were mentioning..I checked the speaker list, I didn’t see you on it? Are you planning on attending? Would love to hear you speak!
take care
Wendy
Hi Wendy,
Thank you. This is one of my favorite interviews too. Don’t miss the one with Anita Moorjani, as well (about a fascinating near-death experience during a coma). No, I’m not speaking at the conference in Arizona, but I appreciate that you’d like me to be. I do plan to give more lectures and workshops in 2012, so keep an eye on the EVENTS page at AfterlifeTV.com.
Warmly,
Bob
hi Bob I am from India. I ‘v read books by dr. Brian Weiss, Echo Bodine, Janis Amatuzio, Mary Browne, Ruth Montegomery on afterlife. I ‘v lost my 15 year old son two months back. I was in big trauma & went into severe depression. I had a great bonding with my son & my life is miserable without him.few friends suggested these books & after reading them i ‘m feeling a bit okay but still the loss of my child has made my life dreadful. I feel like dying & go to the spiritual world where he has gone &reunite with him there. I have read many stories about communicating with the loved ones who have passed away. I want to talk to my child once, get some message from him to comfort myself. Can you please guide & help me in this matter?
Thx pinky
Hi Pinky,
I’m so very sorry to learn about your son’s passing. And I understand why you want to communicate with him. First, let me say that he is communicating with you already. You just have to be aware of the signs. I’ve done interviews with James Van Praagh, Bill Guggenheim and Dave Kane on this subject, so check those out to learn more about the signs and signals our loved ones in spirit send us.
Second, if you are seeking to communicate with your son, you’ll want to have a reading with a medium. Mediums communicate with people in spirit. I also have some videos about this on this site (AfterlifeTV.com), but I have articles and listings of mediums on BestPsychicMediums.com and BestPsychicDirectory.com. This won’t take away your grief by any means, but it can be quite comforting and send you on a new spiritual journey of awakening. For many who have lost loved ones, this journey that was ignited by loss can even be considered the last gift that their loved ones gave them.
My warmest wishes to you,
Bob
Dear Bob, I stumbled upon your site by accident or maybe I was meant to find it. Anyway, great interview! I still have so many questions. If we are perfect in spirit, it seems silly to want to experience so much negativity. Why does our return to spirit have to be painful? I know some people go peacfully in their sleep but so many seem to be tragic. Are we that inexperienced on the other side? I was raised Catholic but have come to agree with much that has been said because of experiences and dreams (visitations) and a health challenge that was answered to me in a dream. All went well but it was so stressful. I met my spirit guides during an evacuation from a hurricane (another stressful situation) and even know their names. Still I am having difficulty with understanding the real purpose of all of this. As souls, do we have a pecking order or hierarchy ? Are spirit guides advanced souls? To this day I still journal my dreams so I can figure out what I am supposed to do next. Currently, I have 15 years of dreams journaled. If there is anyone reading who lost someone to suicide, I have lost two friends to it. One came to me in a dream and said he was ok. Who this helps. All the best, Andrea
Hi Andrea,
I’m not able to answer your questions in a mere comment with any degree of depth, but I can get you started. I believe our souls sign up for painful experiences in our human lives because there are no painful experiences in the spiritual world (and we gain immense personal and spiritual growth when dealing with challenging experiences). In other words, since we cannot experience challenges in the spiritual world, we come to the physical world to have those experiences. In this way, we test our ability to work through them and we grow from what we learn while going through those experiences. As my grandfather used to say, overcoming challenges builds character. And the character we build when facing the challenges we meet in this physical world benefit our soul for all eternity. That’s the simple and short answer.
My understanding is that spirit guides are highly advanced. One isn’t able to guide another during their human life unless they know what they’re doing. But this doesn’t mean we humans do not also come from advanced souls. Many advanced souls continue to have human lifetimes for different reasons. In fact, it’s said by many channels that anyone having a human life in this era is an advanced soul.
I highly recommend that you read Robert Schwartz’s two books on this subject. You’ll learn a lot. You can learn more on his website, which is linked below this video on Afterlife TV. http://www.afterlifetv.com/?p=570 I’ll be interviewing Robert on his second book sometime in February or March 2013.
Finally, you asked about suicide. I did a video on suicide on Afterlife TV. Just look for the video titled, What Happens In The Afterlife To People Who Committed Suicide? http://www.afterlifetv.com/?p=558
My warmest wishes to you,
Bob
Its amazing !
Thanks bob and Robert for work.
Regards,
You’re welcome, Neetu,
I appreciate your comment.
Warmly,
Bob
i’m kind of new to all this, but very fascinating. If I could ask Bob a question it would be this, Bob have you interviewed anyone who can explain how can we in the physical have better connections with our deceased, friends and love ones, on the otherside? I think more needs to be written about this. When are friends, and love ones leave we are so devastated, because we actually believe that the relationship with that soul is completely over, well that is not so.
Hey J,
Great question. Dr. Brian Weiss’ wife, who teaches past-life regression with Brian, told me one day that this is possible through hypnosis. I haven’t yet tried it, but I trust her completely. You might also find my interview with Michelle Skaletski-Boyd interesting on this subject: http://www.afterlifetv.com/?p=418
Warmly,
Bob
Dear Bob,
Thank you so much for this interview and for all the work you are doing. I listened to both the Interviews with Robert, and they came at a time when my loved ones and me were going through some challenges here on the earth plane. Although the concepts that Robert shared were not new to me (and I am a hypnotherapist and past life regression therapist myself) there was something about the energy of the interviews that made me look at all that I knew with a ‘higher’ understanding, that brought a new sense of peace and relief…I went on to read the first free chapter of Your Soul’s Gift, and felt such a sense of Love, Acceptance and most of all Respect, for all that we go through in Life…I was amazed at the respect I felt for those people in my life that I dislike, and for those aspects of my loved ones that always made me feel frustrated…Something in me has changed….I have shared the interviews with my Mom and we are going to get both the books as well.
Thanks once again to you and Robert. And I can’t stop myself from adding that you are so good looking 🙂
Love and regards,
Sheetal
Hi Sheetal,
This is such great news to me, because this is exactly the reason that I do these videos–for people to have the shift of consciousness that you had from this one. Thank you for sharing this with me. And your last sentence will have my spirits lifted all day long. Thank you for that.
Warmly,
Bob
Hello Bob,
I just happened on your website and want to thank you for what you do and for the wonderful video with Robert Schwartz. I cannot wait to get his books! I, like many others have lost loved ones and felt the heartache for many years. I recently have been doing some ‘soul-searching’ and I am sure his books will help me in many ways! Thank you again!
Jayne
Hi Jayne,
I’m sure you will benefit a great deal from Robert’s books. Lots of wisdom there.
You are most welcome. I appreciate your comments.

Okay; I’m trying for a 3rd time to get a couple of answers – hopefully, this time. First one: If there is no time in the higher dimension, how is it that we need to “learn” or “evolve,” wouldn’t we be able to access our complete evolved selves at any given point? Two: I’ve always read that communication in the higher dimension is never verbal, always instantaneous and like telepathy – how do mediums “hear” the pre-birth life planning conversations? As always, Bob, great work!
Hi Ric,
Sorry about your frustration with getting answers. If there is a question I am able to answer briefly, I’ll try to do that. However, because I put so much time into preparing, creating, and publishing these interviews that I offer the public for free, and now that I have a book that answers over 150 of the most common questions about life after death, I don’t have the time to answer everyone’s questions. I wish I did. I wish I could spend my days writing answers to everyone’s questions, but I’ve found that the best use of my time is producing these shows on Afterlife TV because they provide a lot of answers from many different perspectives. I appreciate your understanding, as I know you do.
Warmly,
Bob

Ok; one more: So, Mr. Schwartz is saying that guides can manipulate the physical world as in the case of someone about to do something not within the pre-plan? Can you expound on that, please???
Thanks, Bob!
Bob, Can we engage in a future soul contract, with one with whom we have had numerous past lives, is now deceased, and I feel bound to engage with this soul in the next life. Thank you, Susan
Hi Susan,
Typically you will if you’ve had numerous other lifetimes together.
Warmly,
Bob
