NATALIE SUDMAN: “An archaeologist who accepted a position managing construction contracts in Iraq, Natalie Sudman tells the story of her encounter with a roadside bomb (IED) and what happened when she left her body and had a near death experience. In the blink of an eye, Natalie found herself in another dimension, what she calls the Blink Environment. Surrounded by thousands of other-wordly beings, she instantly began downloading minutely detailed information to them about events, thoughts, concepts, judgments, projections and connections regarding her physical life so far. Thus begins this fascinating story of spiritual insight and experience that will have you mesmerized by this Defense Of Freedom Medal recipient. This is a video you don’t want to miss.” ~ Bob Olson, Afterlife TV

Natalie Sudman worked as an archeologist in the Great Basin states for sixteen years before accepting a position managing construction contracts in Iraq. After being injured by a roadside bomb (improvised explosive device–IED), Natalie has since retired from government service. She is now enjoying art, writing, and continuing explorations into the non-physical.
Natalie has been a subject of studies performed by the University of Virginia’s Division of Perceptual Studies, and welcomes invitations to act as a lab rat for any scientific investigation. Describing herself as an open-minded skeptic, Natalie finds that the rigorous methodology of science appeals to her critical mind, while her artistic nature enjoys the expansive freedom of leaving behind the critical mind in frequent forays into the non-physical. She maintains that an irreverent sense of humor and a willingness to look foolish are the cornerstones of constructive exploration.
Raised in Minnesota, Natlie Sudman has lived most of her adult life in eastern Oregon, Montana and South Dakota. She recently moved to southern Arizona. Her artwork is available through Davis & Cline Galleries in Ashland, Oregon.

Bob,
Very good interview as usual. Everything about it was interesting, had me stuck to my seat! It is so true about the blackness of space(or whatever u want to call it). I also had an experience where I found myself in space so dark that in a way it was dark blue. But yet objects in space had their own light. It was NOT like walking in the woods at night with no moon where u couldn’t even see the trees . But this was not a near death experience. Anyway, it shows just how much we can learn from all these experiences belonging to ourselves and certainly others. And with cross referencing them all- we see such validation and therefore truth. Oh, I just love your mission here. thanks
Thank you Janie,
I just love your enthusiasm. I love that idea of the light within the darkness. Funny, I just began to watch a few minutes of this episode to show my wife and we too got stuck on it–watched the whole thing. It’s a cool story and her book offers so very much more. I’ll have to have her back.
I appreciate your comment.
Warmly,
Bob
What a hero Ms. Sudman is. As if the content of the interview itself wasn’t amazing enough, toward the end when she described the massive injuries she’s sustained, and her courageous struggle to “be present” through the resultant PTSD, this just left me speechless.
This was riveting. Ms. Sudman’s warmth, candor and honesty really came through; she is beautiful both inside and outside. Great work, Bob. Thanks so much for sharing this.
You’re welcome Elisa,
Natalie really is all those things. She was a wonderful guest. Happy to hear you like the interview.
Warmly,
Bob
Bob, thank you for posting your interview with Natalie Sudman. Ms. Sudman, thank you for sharing your story with us. As a human being, an American, and a fellow spiritual traveler I am proud of you. I feel enriched and blessed by hearing of your experiences. I know you will continue to heal and know you will continue to be an inspiration to others.
Thanks Judith,
That’s very kind and well written. I’ll be sure she reads it.
Warmly,
Bob
Hi Bob,
I love this interview with Natalie Sudman. I’ve got to get her book. Bob, i have been going on afterlifetv.com for the past 4 months on daily basis, you might not believe how much what you are doing here with all the interviews on this website is helping me through my grief of losing my daughter..you are the reason that a whole new world has opened up to me.i have read many of the books suggested in this website already, and watched the movie, astral city.they all have given me so much comfort and understanding.
please keep up the good work and thank you.
Hi Nooshin,
Wow. I don’t know how to respond. It is my thoughts of people like you–and what you are dealing with due to loss–that motivates me to do these videos. It means a great deal to me to read your words. Thank you for expressing it in this comment. I’m grateful.
Warmly,
Bob
Hi, Bob. That was a great interview. Loved it. I have come across this type of NDE many times in the scores of books I’ve read. It makes so much sense, it’s resonates with truth so to speak. Andy Petro ( drowning accident) described a lot of the things that Natalie relates (not identical but…) . Anyway, I’m going tp buy the book. Thanks for tracking her down.
Thank you Tim,
I’ll check out Andy Petro.
Warmly,
Bob
Hi, again. Bob. I ordered the book tonight and it only cost eight pounds (approx) including delivery (amazon books uk) . I never would have known about Natalie’s experience so thanks again.
Natalie is refreshing! I really like the part where we are admired/honored for just going through our day here in the physical…by just Being here. To think I can just relax and just be me! Thanks for all your efforts, Bob. You’re doing a great service. Looking forward to your next interview. BTW I’ve got this book on my list. Another must read!
Namaste!
Charlotte
Thanks Charlotte,
Natalie really is refreshing. I too loved that part. I appreciate your comment, Charlotte. It means a lot.
Warmly,
Bob
Hi Bob,
Bob,
I just found you web page, and watching videos. I am looking forward to reading Natalie’s story. I best liked how you look at the investigative side of “life after death.”
This has been my journey ever since Ray passed away suddenly at 56, on April 2010.
Little by little, I am making efforts to tell my story, my best ways to connect with spirit. THis I hope to share with everyone someday, but, alas, I do have good days, and bad ones. My friend George, an artist, said, I must write about the bad days too.
So Bob, keep up the interviews. It give us all hope!
– Take Care,
Mindy, and as always, Ray, in love, spirit, and inspiration.
Thank you Mindy,
Start writing. It’s great therapy in addition to sharing with others. My best to you and Ray. Maybe he led you to Afterlife TV.
Warmly,
Bob
Bob, I have no idea how you find these amazing people to interview, but I am so grateful that you do! This was/is yet another incredible account of what it was/is like to “die” and then come back to describe it to the rest of us. I can’t get too much of it. Of course, I wonder what is in store for me and what this life is all about, but I have also lost precious loved ones and wonder what they are “doing” on pretty much a daily basis. I am in no hurry to leave this lifetime behind, but because of your interviews I am becoming less and less “afraid” of what lies ahead. Thank you, Bob.
Linda
Thanks Linda,
That’s what it’s all about. Interestingly my wife, Melissa, gave me a book titled “Don’t Be Afraid To Die” when she was 12 and I was 15 years old (we had just started dating). Who knew my work 30 years later would help people in this way.
Thanks again Linda,
Bob
Bob,
Once again you bring us a wonderful guest who is willing to share experiences that are so compelling.
Like Nooshin, I have discovered your website about 4 months ago after someone special to me died unexpectedly. I started having “strange” experiences immediately after, and in my search to look for explanantions, I found your websiste.
I can’t begin to describe the comfort your website and guests gave me when nothing else possibly could have. I told a friend of mine about it who has also become a fan.
You are doing a wonderful thing and I love that stories are getting told that need to be heard. After my experiences, I realized there are so few people I can talk to about what I experienced as alot of people tend to think these types of stories are made up or that the person telling them is crazy. Until I found your website, I even started to wonder if I was crazy!
My eyes have been opened to so many things I never really thought about and it’s intriguing and exciting, so thank you for that.
Julie
Hi Julie,
Your comment means the world to me. I do hope that these videos will open more minds to the amazing realities I’ve discovered since first investigating this field in 1999. And I hope they will open new discussions between friends that might not normally happen. A simple email and link to one of these videos that reads “Check this out” might help people discover common interests around a subject that is seldom talked about among mainstream Americans.
Thank you for articulating so wonderfully the benefits you have gained from Afterlife TV. I appreciate the time you took to write.
Warmly,
Bob
Thank you for all the thoughtful responses, and thank you Bob for having me on afterlifetv. I’m very grateful and humbled to be in the position of touching others just by telling a little of my story … I hope all you fellow explorers will enjoy the book and find something in it that is worthwhile!
Hey Natalie Sudman,
Thanks for responding to your fans here on Afterlife TV. People have loved your interview. There are so many raving comments here on Afterlife TV, Facebook and YouTube. One of the most common comments is “I have ordered Natalie’s book since watching the interview.” And I know people will love your book as much as the interview–even more.
Warmly,
Bob
This interview with Natalie Sudman is my first to get to hear. It helped me so much. As a grandmother of the boy I took charge of as he came into the world as my first grandchild, and my husband and I had him from the day he was born, but he had a brain bleed on day 4 of his life and has cerebral palsy. Some of life with him was hell, and some of life with him is pure sunshine. We did adopt him. But I was told for years by psychics that a third child was coming to me. I had two daughter’s, had already had open heart surgery, couldn’t have any more children, and I simply laughted at these people who told me that. We proceeded to foster 32 little children, but none of them as they left us, were ever the third child. I knew the third child when he arrived. He knows his birth mother well, and they are rather like brother and sister. I fear leaving this 27 year old child with all my being. Natalie lessened some of my fear tonight. I’m going to buy her book tonight, and see how much more I can learn and understand. I have strange interesting experiences with folks from the other side all the time, but none of them can take away this fear I carry of leaving this soul without my ability to watch over and care for him to the end of his earthly life. Surely, some healing is coming to me through this show I just viewed. Thank you both for the encouragement you have given me. I can keep walking one step at a time. Lois
Hi, Natalie,
I enjoyed your book very much, it’s one of the most unusual testimonies I’ve ever read and it makes so much sense. I think Anita Moorjani’s experience would mesh nicely with yours but I have come across these ‘hints’ as to our true situation…in other books. However as far as I can remember, not in as great a detail. Thanks so much for telling your story.
I’m sure she’ll appreciate that Tim. Thanks, Bob
For me, what’s most interesting about this interview is how Ms. Sudman describes her experience and insights from that experience, i.e., it’s a different explanation than the usual (but compelling) stories of seeing deceased relatives and feeling “unconditional love”. The concepts that she discussed/raised, e.g., simultaneously “living” or existing in different dimensions, or the “skill” required or needed to have a human experience provide a little more detail and context to the what-is-it-all-about question.
Hi Carl,
Yes, just one of the things I love about Natalie–she’s incredible at articulating her experience.
Thanks,
Bob
Just watched your interview, wonderful. First time.
I could really identify with the aftermath PTSD which has completely passed for me. ( I was home invaded. packed raped by 10 mew with weapons in 1981) A long time ago. I understand this event as my awakening. Awakening to my path, who I was and healing.
I love the way Natalie shared about facing rubbish on the street. I did that with my own triggers. I am convinced that we humans have all the healing wisdom resources within.
Great thank you Bob and Natalie.
Brenda
Thanks Brenda,
I appreciate your comment. Your story is inspiring to anyone dealing with some form of trauma who wants to move beyond it and live without feeling like a victim.
Warmly,
Bob
Hi Bob,
I just discovered your website this morning and had the opportunity to watch your interview with Natalie. I just have to say, I was blown away by the story, the details of Natalie’s experience and especially her amazing clarity and honesty. She is a delightful person and incredibly inspiring!!
I also have to thank you for your honesty and openness surrounding such a very “deep” and in some folks minds….far- fetched topic.
I am a great believer in the after life and all that is spiritual and it is a GREAT pleasure to discover you and your community of others who believe as well 🙂
Thank you….I can’t wait to see and hear more…lol
Best Regards,
Laura Mattiacci
Hi Laura,
Well welcome to our community. I’m happy that you found us. And Natalie’s video is one of my favorites. She really is wonderful. Be sure to look around the site to see the other videos.
I appreciate your comments and the time you took to write.
Thank you,
Bob
Riveting interview! I ordered her book immediately! Thank you for this important work.
You’re welcome Louise,
I’m happy you liked it. And I believe you’ll enjoy the book too.
Warmly,
Bob
Dear Bob,
I loved this interview!! I randomly found your interview on YouTube, and from there, afterlifetv.com.
I’m so grateful that you interviewed Natalie. What an amazing experience. I ordered the book on Amazon. 🙂 Can’t wait to read it. I have to have all the details now, lol!
As the commentator Charlotte said, I was also moved by Natalie’s account of how we are admired just for being here, experiencing this life. She also seems like such a genuine person, I totally believe this happened to her.
If I may ask, can you recommend any other NDE stories that are similar to Natalie’s?
Thanks again to both of you for creating this video!
Catherine
Hi Catherine,
While no two NDEs are exactly alike, I would recommend watching my interviews with Anita Moorjani and MarVeena Meek, both on AfterlifeTV.com. I think every NDE teaches us something new. I also have some good news, which is that I’ll be interviewing Natalie Sudman again in early August. So you can look forward to that.
Thanks for your comment. Have fun with those other NDE interviews!
Warmly,
Bob
Wow these interviews with Natalie were really interesting!
Thanks Josie,
Glad you enjoyed them.
Warmly,
Bob
